Finally it seems that Warner Bros. begins to take the reins of the shared universe that has created around DC Comics characters. After several months of rumors and still trying to overcome the lukewarm reception that ‘ justice leauge ‘ had at the box office, the studio takes a step forward and hires two directors to take charge of ‘ Flashpoint ‘, the first individual film focused on the character of The Flash.
After the departure of Rick Famuyiwa last October, due to the creative differences with the studio, the director’s chair had remained empty. Now Warner Bros. has hired John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein , screenwriters of the acclaimed ‘ Spider-Man: Homecoming ‘, to take over the reins of this project , which fans are already cataloging as “damn”. And is that after the departure of Famuyiwa, Warner would have decided to give a change of direction to the project so the initial script would have been completely restructured.
Although Daley and Goldstein have already directed several projects together, most comedies of low or medium budget, this will be their first blockbuster . This movement would indicate that after the restructuring that has suffered the study recently, the top executives would have chosen to focus the film of The Flash from a much more humorous and relaxed than the one that has been taking place in the extended Universe DC
Goodbye, Affleck, goodbye
Before contacting Daley and Goldstein, Warner Bros. offered the project to Ben Affleck who finally declined the offer . This decision on the part of the actor has returned to rekindle between the fans the rumors that the future of Affleck like Dark Knight would have the counted days . Especially when the actor already resigned a few months ago to the director’s chair in ‘ The Batman ‘ in favor of Matt Reeves .
